Our curriculum draws inspiration from this art form’s African and African American roots, as well as tap dancers of the past and present.
Started in 2019, this program explores issues of Diversity and Inclusion in Dance through a series of events hosted by the Teen Leadership Team. The Teen Leadership Team is comprised of ATD Teens from many genres, levels, and identities who are passionate about Diversity and Inclusion topics.
The rhythm and movement of tap, created by the metal taps on the heels and toes of a dancer’s shoes, transforms the dancer into a percussive musician.
This class teaches tap technique for adults of all levels. Class will run mid-August through mid-May. Participants do not require specific dancewear. Oxford-style dance shoes are recommended.
Transitional class where students age 4 to 6 learn the basics of ballet and tap in an encouraging atmosphere. Barre work, across the floor, and center choreography combinations are practiced. This is the perfect class for an older 4-year-old who has completed a few seasons of dance or a 5 or 6-year
