Early tap classes focus on learning tap technique while having fun finding rthyms in music. Currently we are offering beginners classes for those age 5-8 and age 8+.
The rhythm and movement of tap, created by the metal taps on the heels and toes of a dancer’s shoes, turns the dancer into a musician.
Tap dance teaches the dancer to find rhythms and beats not only in music but in their own bodies.

Exams may be offered as a tool for those dancers who wish to work towards a goal.
Expressions Dance Company is committed to producing dancers who are versatile, well educated in both technique and expression, and who are strong, authentic young people. We believe every young dancer has the ability to increase their physical, emotional and intellectual wellbeing through dance.

These are classes which introduce basic skills and discipline and heaps of fun for ages 5 to 8. These classes are 30 or 45 minute classes
The Beginner class will learn tap techniques throughout the year while learning exercises and combinations
We are a collective group of enthusiastic and passionate teachers dedicated to inspiring our pupils through lifting their spirits their technique and finding the joy and the passion dance has given us.
Tap is examined internally at HSPA. Our tap classes always feature in our annual show.
An open class designed for students to learn the basics of American tap whilst gaining confidence. The class will be made up of Barre and Centre exercises and finishing with a routine that will be added onto each week.
