Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one's tap shoes hitting the floor (or other surfaces) as a percussive instrument. As such, it is also commonly considered to be a form of music. Two major variations on tap dance exist: rhythm (Jazz) tap and Broadway tap.

The Dance Alliance (TDA) is located in north east London, Ontario. We offer dance classes in a fun and inviting setting for students aged three to adult.TDA provides a safe and comfortable environment where each student has the opportunity to grow and develop as a dancer.
We focus on cultivating strong dance and performance technique in a positive, nurturing, and inspiring atmosphere.The goal of TDA is to ensure that every student and their family have a positive dance experience.
This is a fun lively class Students learn basic tap technique and routines as well as an introduction to jazz. Students will need a pair of tap shoes as well as ballet or jazz shoes.
While learning basic tap sounds through graded levels, students will learn to identify basic rhythmic sequences and eventually more intricate syncopation within a variety of musical phrases.
Tap is a great way to develop rhythm, agility, and co-ordination through intricate footwork. This class is excellent for developing a sense of rhythm and musicality – children have fun learning different rhythms and trying to re-create them with their feet!
Classes are focused on introducing dancers to different disciplines: Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Baton. An Acro – Mini class can be added to compliment the dancer’s training. Students are grouped according to age, ability, and previous training.
The tap syllabus is based on the Al Gilbert graded system. This system begins with pre-tap and proceeds through an additional 10 grades.
