Beginner dancers are welcome to come in with little or no background in Tap and may range up to dancers who have Tap danced in the past and would like to revisit. This class will focus on reintroducing and fine tuning fundamental Tap steps and technique.
Beginner dancers are welcome to come in with little or no background in Tap and may range up to dancers who have Tap danced in the past and would like to revisit. This class will focus on reintroducing and fine tuning fundamental Tap steps and technique.
In a typical hour, students will be led through a warm-up, brain teaser, and combination. This class will from time to time add on segments such as using musical theatre songs and breaking down Broadway choreography without arm choreography.
This class will hopefully ignite a passion for Tap in students who do not have prior experience and fuel the love for Tap in those who desire to expand upon their foundation.
All Tap classes will end with the Derick Grant tradition of naming an influential Tap dancer and one fun fact about them or a contribution they made for the Tap community.
If students do not come to class with this information, no sweat! Students can use their phones to research as their "ticket" to leave class at the end of the hour.

Children love to make noise and move – our tap dance classes for kids let them do both. In these classes, our instructors focus on furthering your child’s understanding of rhythm, music counting, timing, and different tap patterns.
This class will focus on learning tap technique and terminology and putting them together in exciting combinations using high-energy music. Tap encourages the development of musicality and coordination.
