DurationTap classes are all about rhythm and timing. Students will develop their skills in timing and musical interpretation, while making lots of noise! Students will be graded in the NZAMD American Tap or Theatrical Dance International (TDI) syllabus. Pre-grade to Solo diploma.

A fun, casual environment where students will learn technique and different choreography throughout the term. Students in these classes do not sit examinations.
The Chilton Dance Centre Tap training is based on the New Zealand Association of Modern Dance Tap syllabus.
The American Tap consists of barre work, centre work, and set or teachers’ own choreographed dances.
We have adult jazz, beginners and advanced tap classes. Each class will incorporate a warm-up, combinations and routines, encouraging passion and individual style.
Tap has had many different stages in its evolution; from its roots in African American history and into the silver screen years with Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers and Gene Kelly, to the Tap Dogs and Boot Men of today.
