Tap develops rhythm, musicality and coordination. Dancers will practice rhythmic patterns and combinations with tap shoes.
In addition to learning rhythm and musicality, Tap is a great cardiovascular exercise with the added benefits of working on your balance as you shift weight from one leg to another and one toe to heel or vice-versa.
Tap Dance Classes are offered by Contemporary Academy of Dance for all skill level. We provide our students with a safe, encouraging, and fun environment to learn a variety of dance styles.
This class is for students who are brand new to tap. If you have never had a tap class before this class is for you! If you don’t have tap shoes we have a limited selection of loaner shoes; you can also wear any hard-soled shoe for your first class
This course draw from both the Broadway and the contemporary Rhythm-Tap styles and begin with a foot isolating warm-up, followed by rhythm and step-based skill building in both the center of the room and moving across the floor.
