TADA – The Atlanta Dance Academy is Atlanta’s newest dance studio offering high quality dance education for children and adults of all skill levels.
Kara, an Atlanta native, founded TADA in October of 2016, and she has more than 30 years of dance training and education experience. Her training and performance experiences include: Harkness House in New York City, The Joffrey Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, The Georgia Ballet, and Southern Ballet.
Ms. Jacobson is also a graduate of the nationally recognized Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts (CCCEPA). Kara is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3.
Currently, Kara is a volunteer coach for the USA Special Olympics gymnastics team. In addition to launching TADA Kara is a faculty member at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.
Contemporary class blends elements of Ballet and Modern dance. This class builds and teaches freedom of expression, interpretation of music, principles of fall and recovery, control, breathing, and balance. Our Contemporary classes teach a variety of styles (e.g., Horton, Graham, Limon)
This class offers 30 minutes of Jazz followed by 30 minutes of Tap for your young dancer. Dancers are introduced to the foundations of both jazz and tap. Perfect for those that love both styles
Teaches the basic principles of hip-hop dance and teaches age-appropriate choreography featured in today's popular music videos. Students will learn: basic footwork, freezes, popping and locking drills, basic breaking, and new school hip-hop moves
Want long, lean muscles & a strong core like a dancer Based on the technique developed by Russian dancer Boris Kniaseff, Floor Barre is used as an addition to ballet training to strengthen, tone and warm up the muscles, encouraging correct alignment and efficiency of the muscles to improve movement
This jazz class begins with an extended warm-up focusing on stretching, core strengthening, and upper body strength exercises. You'll go across the floor to fine tune your technique, and will break down the mechanical function of pirouettes, battements and other common dance moves
