Our Contemporary classes teach a variety of styles (e.g., Horton, Graham, Limon). Contemporary Dance forms allow students to explore their individual dance style outside of the structure of traditional ballet and jazz classes. Ballet class twice a week is required to take this class.
TADA – The Atlanta Dance Academy is Atlanta’s newest dance studio offering high quality dance education for children and adults of all skill levels.
Kara, an Atlanta native, founded TADA in October of 2016, and she has more than 30 years of dance training and education experience. Her training and performance experiences include: Harkness House in New York City, The Joffrey Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, The Georgia Ballet, and Southern Ballet.
Ms. Jacobson is also a graduate of the nationally recognized Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts (CCCEPA). Kara is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3.
Currently, Kara is a volunteer coach for the USA Special Olympics gymnastics team. In addition to launching TADA Kara is a faculty member at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.
Teen Contemporary class pushes our teens to incorporate all of their techniques, including ballet, jazz, and modern, to establish fluidity of movement, connecting mind and body, as well as challenge their creativity and self-interpretation of music
Studio J offers Contemporary dance classes for students of all ages and abilities the opportunity to express themselves and their faith through the gift of dance. We seek to instill a love of dance, music, community, and the appreciation of the performing arts in our students.
The Broadway style of dance with students stretching and doing “across the floor” exercises (turns and leaps).
This class is designed to teach a style of theatrical dance that rejects the limitations of classical ballet and favors movement deriving from the expression of inner feelings
