This course is offered to new users as a full day and is offered to experienced users as a half day refresher. Please refer to the Information About Forklift Training section to best determine your experience level before booking.?

?Telehandlers are an indispensable means for material handling on job sites and in the agricultural industry. Its a flexible piece of equipment that offers multiple attachments and uses to manage just about any job.

This piece of equipment is classed as a forklift, however it does not respond and operate in the same means though the fork application is widely used.

Users need to be aware of tipping points, how the weight of the load shifts as the boom extends up and out, and how the operator needs to be aware of the hazards around the equipment at all times.

This course has been designed to offer a comprehensive review of uses, hazard recognition, safe operating practices, how to understand load charts that affect the stability of the equipment at height.

It examines the practical components of inspection, load selection, placement, blind spot recognition and refueling practices.

 

Upon successful completion of this course the learner will:

  • Understand legislation and the obligations of organizations authorizing workers to use equipment?

  • Describe hazards unique to Telehandlers and the environment they work in

  • Demonstrate safe operation of equipment in a practical examination?

  • Demonstrate practical inspection on the equipment 

  • Demonstrate theoretical understanding of equipment use through theory evaluation

  • Demonstrate load chart comprehension

  • Be familiar with safe refueling practices
