After graduating from the Scottish College of Textiles, Galashiels in 1990 with a degree in printed textile design I established my studio and business in Edinburgh. I begin to incorporate free motion embroidery into my work.
This is the technique of drawing freehand with the sewing machine to illustrate an image or design. Building on my knowledge of garment construction I particularly specialise in historic stay and corsetry based garments.
This intensive course is a broad introduction to the business side of fashion through key topics such as retail, branding, buying and merchandising, and PR.
Intermediate and advanced students will be supported in the making of garments using commercial or own patterns under the supervision and assistance of our qualified tutor. This is a mixed level class, you will work with others at different levels.

This is a course designed for complete beginner who have never used a sewing machine before. During the course you will learn some key skills while completing 3 projects. A cushion cover, tote bag and a zip top pouch. The course includes all materials.
