The idea for Tiny Bakers came from the realization that children not only love baking,but that baking also stimulates a variety of skills, which are essential in the development of a child – especially during the first couple of years of a child’s life.
Apart from the fact that skills are stimulated, baking is a relaxing activity, and is therefore an excellent activity for the shy or highly strung toddler or child.
The classes take place in a relaxed atmosphere, and special attention is given to a child that is shy or a bit averse to trying out new foods. We had immense success with this as a child will often try out food they don’t usually want to when their friends try it.
I started out with baking classes at branches of the Opti-Baby Schools, which is part of the Optico group. During 2012 our first classes started at the Eldoraigne Branch in Pretoria.
Nutri kids are happy kids. Our chefs will guide young chefs with lessons on making delectable and healthy meals for the family, from roasted pumpkin ravioli and baked salmon to a chocolate brownie tart with vanilla cream and freeze dried strawberries .
They’ll learn how to make the most delicious and nutritious dishes out there, plus healthy cooking techniques that will help them become healthy adults
In just a few months you could learn basic cooking and knife skills under the guidance of our very own lecturers, and turn from a novice to a master in the kitchen.
This is a great way to teach children the basics of cooking, combining the perfect combination of fun and creativity!
