Course Description
This is a one day course designed to train candidates to conduct a safe and informal firing line for the local gun club. It is a generic program for use with sport shooters who are not in a specific discipline.
It is not intended to replace any current safe practices but to enhance and refresh all current and future Range Safety Officers and Line Safety Officers in their duties and responsibilities at the local level.
The purpose is to ensure all Range Officers are trained to the same standard, making for an improved shooting experience for our membership.
Gun clubs can book courses to suit your schedule. You don’t have to wait for our next scheduled training opportunity. Clubs are not required to be CSSA-affiliated, but all course participants must be CSSA-insured members for liability reasons.
Covers the fundamentals of shooting using a shotgun
Canadian Firearms Safety Course and Tests course is offered by Firearms Education School.
Safety Services Nova Scotia is proud to offer firearms safety and hunter training, including the Canadian Non-Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CFSC), the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) as well as the Hunter Education Course.
Individuals who wish to acquire restricted firearms must take the full classroom delivery of the CFSC (above) and successfully complete the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC)
The non-restricted firearms safety course (CFSC) is made up of lectures and hands on practical training in the safe handling of non-restricted firearms (typically shotguns and rifles used for hunting and target shooting).
