Level 1 Trumpet and Level 1+ Trombone are combined in the same class with a teacher.
DurationThe trumpet is a very versatile instrument. It can be played in jazz bands, concert bands, brass bands and orchestras.
It can be very powerful and majestic, and also very soulful and mellow. Instruments can be hired from us for $100 per year. Students must have completed 2 years of basic instrument or 9yrs old before enrolling in trumpet lessons.
Birkdale North Music Centre is a great place where children can learn music, and take part in inexpensive classes held at Birkdale North Primary School on Saturday mornings. Birkdale North Music Centre is for all children from school years 1 to 8.
Children can start at the age of 5 with Introduction to Music class. All children between 6 plus year old start with two basic years. In the first year they start with lessons on the recorder. In their second basic year they can choose either keyboard, violin, ukulele or recorder.
However if students who wish to learn brass or wind instruments later, we highly recommend to learn second-year recorder.
Did you know that the didgeridoo is considered a brass instrument? It’s all about the sounds made by vibrating the air, in conjunction with the players lips!

Even front teeth formation is desirable when playing the trumpet. To play the trombone, students will need to be physically capable of reaching all the slide positions with the arm.
The school provides Ministry of Education subsidised group music lessons for primary and intermediate age school students
