Woodworking provides an excellent play environment for children to engage in problem solving, an important skill for children to develop from an early age for their future. Under strict supervision, ensuring safety equipment is worn at all times, and after we have talked about the rules of Woodworking safety, children have the opportunity to explore with work benches, vice and clamps, hammers, screws and screwdrivers.
Exploring with such tools and materials builds self esteem and confidence, children feel empowered through the use of real tools, they are given responsibility and work towards accomplishing tasks that they initially feel to be challenging.
22 Street Lane Nursery offers an exceptional learning experience for children aged from one month to five years. Situated on one of the most iconic streets in Leeds, our provision is something truly unique.
The nursery was opened by parents of three, Simon and Caroline Pollard in June 2016. They are committed to delivering excellence in early years care and education and strive to become the UK’s leading early years provider.
They believe strongly in supporting children to achieve, thrive and progress, and have prepared a high-quality learning environment in which to do so.
The nursery features five spacious rooms over four floors with natural furnishings and carefully selected resources.
The calming environment offers children an exclusive space to flourish and develop into confident, creative, and curious learners. Complementing this is our incredible outdoor garden giving children the chance to learn and explore the outdoor environment through active play and discovery.
Our committed, experienced and highly qualified nursery team actively encourage children in their play and exploration, supporting their natural curiosity and thirst for learning. The dedicated practitioners will tune in to the individual learning needs and interests of your child, ensuring that they are fully supported to reach their full potential.
22 Street Lane Nursery was inspected by Ofsted on Tuesday 21st August 2018, who graded the nursery as ‘Outstanding’, which is a significant achievement for everyone at 22 Street Lane and we couldn’t have done it without our phenomenal staff, their excellence drives the success and future development of 22 Street Lane Nursery each and every day!
