From building large and small scale storage units to fine picture-framing and armature making, wood as a material is constantly in use at the workshops, much of the wood used is reclaimed timber that we source locally and re-purpose, wooden pallets for instance.

This qualification is aimed at learners aged 16 and above who work or want to work in the construction industry and is aimed at people wishing to learn some skills in carpentry and joinery, to progress on to becoming skilled in their chosen trade.
This Course is a stand-alone qualification that will enhance your theoretical and practical skill for anyone that has completed Professional Development Award Level 6 and SVQ level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery.
You will be taught by tutors with years of experience in shopfitting and house building. You will learn core skills in producing basic woodworking joints and using various hand and power tools.
At this level, no prior knowledge or skills in furniture making is assumed. Students are taken from the basic understanding of tools and materials through to the making of a furniture project.
Carpentry & Joinery DIY course is offered by Leeds College Of Building. This is a DIY course for adult beginners.
