The training program consists of a combination of theory and practical modules which will educate students on the concepts and principles of working at heights safely in the province of Ontario.
Working at Heights (Full) Training Course Overview
The Working at Heights full day program (8 hours) is approved by the Chief Prevention Officer and is designed for workers in the construction industry who must complete the required training as outlined in Ontario Regulation 213/91 (Construction Projects). The training program consists of a combination of theory and practical modules which will educate students on the concepts and principles of working at heights safely in the province of Ontario.
Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to identify key on-site fall hazards, the system options available for fall safety, and will be able to understand the importance of using the highest ranked method of fall protection. Each student will receive a learning manual and a proof of completion card upon successful completion of the course.
The course material is energetically delivered over a full day of training (8 hours) by an experienced trainer covering the following topics:
Safety regulations as they relate to Working at Heights in Ontario
Hazard identification
Physical barriers & warning methods
Fall hazard control systems and their use
Personal fall protection equipment used in the industry
How to properly wear a full body harness
Rescue planning requirements
Ladder safety principals
Scaffolding requirements
Mobile elevated work platforms and suspended access equipment basic requirements
