In 1985, Cynthia Mendoza felt that the curriculum for esthetics and nail service was lacking in technology, practical skills, and the sciences. So, with hopes of advancing the profession, she opened the Oregon College of Electrology and Thermology in downtown Portland.
After opening a satellite college in Spain, the school’s name was changed to the International College of Electrology and Thermology. Years later, the college moved to its current location in southeast Portland and became the Aesthetics Institute.
The facility has more than 5,000 square feet of classrooms, instructional areas, testing area, private treatment rooms, body treatment areas, and offices.
The Aesthetics Institute of Portland will give you everything you need to start a career that you’ll love in the field of advanced esthetics. The program we’ve designed is taught by dedicated professionals whose only goal is to mold you into highly skilled professionals.
