Who are The British Association of Anger Management?
The British Association of Anger Management (BAAM) was founded in 1997. We’re widely considered the UK’s most trusted and successful anger management agency having coached over 20,000 people.
Our programmes are conceived and taught by Mike Fisher. Mike’s an experienced psychotherapist considered a leading global authority in the field of anger management.
His book Beating Anger has sold over 80,000 copies in the UK alone, and was voted one of The Ten Best Self-Help books by Dr Cecilia d’Felice of The Times newspaper in 2013.
You may’ve seen Mike Fisher on Big Brother and he makes regular appearances across TV, radio and the newspapers. Click on these links to read writers’ honest experiences of our anger management classes in The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Daily Mail, and Stylist magazine.
Who comes to anger management classes?
95% of BAAM’s clients have never experienced any form of therapy before. Rest assured that they are very ‘normal’ just like you. Our programmes take a plain-speaking approach, avoiding psychobabble. Mike and the BAAM coaches were all just as angry once. We are understanding and supportive.
82% of clients found the BAAM anger management course they attended ‘helped enormously’ even after 18 months, and one hundred percent of those surveyed said that they would suggest our courses to others. Many begin with our affordable two-hour Introduction to Anger Management online evening workshop.
What happens in anger management?
BAAM’s courses encourage self-examination, self-knowledge, and fundamental positive change. Clients are taught techniques to control inappropriate temper outbursts.
They are also educated to read and communicate their own emotions more effectively, creating more harmonious relationships with their colleagues, friends and loved ones.
Recently we’ve been delighted to notice the stigma around anger management begin to lift as many figures in the public eye have spoken bravely and honestly about how anger management has benefitted them.
BAAM has worked with the NHS and fully recognised by police, courts, and social services. We work regularly with HR departments in a wide range of industries.
BAAM has won various awards including CV Magazine’s Best Mental Health IPO in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Mike Fisher’s sequel to Beating Anger, Mindfulness and the Art of Managing Anger, is also out now.
The course takes place in comfortable surroundings just outside London over three days (Friday afternoon till Sunday afternoon). Most attendees stay locally – yes, we will provide you with a list of nearby options.
