About Us

Owner, Sylvia Fooshee is a former Home Economics teacher and mother of 3 grown children. I started sewing and hand embroidery as a child, which later grew into a fun hobby and finally into an enjoyable business. Though much of my business deals with smocking and heirloom supplies, I am always eager to teach this lovely needle art to any enthusiastic student.

My business began in 1992 with custom heirloom sewing & developed into teaching english smocking & heirloom sewing. The opportunity came in 1995 to handle supplies out of my home & start a budding mail order business for smocking & heirloom sewing and hand embroidery supplies. Though most of my business is mail order, I do invite you to stop by and shop if you are in the Tulsa area at our Tulsa embroidery shop. Please call ahead for an appointment & directions.

I try to have many of "the basics" for those who are just starting out, as well as some special & hard to find items for the more accomplished artisan. It is my hope that this website will be a means of better serving those of you who have a hard time finding supplies in the areas where you live. I always welcome suggestions on things you would desire I carry.

The opportunity is also here for classes in a variety of areas. I offer classes for the beginner through advanced levels in smocking, fine hand embroidery & heirloom sewing. Please feel free to inquire based on your needs & interests whether it is on an individual level or for a small group. Teaching is available here in my Tulsa embroidery shop/studio or in your area for a guild or sewing club.
