My company, Food Fitness Yoga, was born out of my desire to create a more balanced life. Years ago, I lost my mother after a long battle with cancer. While caring for her, I made a decision to leave a corporate career after 18 years of service. This was a significant turning point in my life. After her passing I struggled with many difficult emotions. Depleted on all levels of health with a deep desire to heal and feel better, I enrolled in a 9-month yoga teacher training program. This program was the first in a series of self-discoveries and what led me to serve in health and wellness. My desire to improve my own emotional, and physical health became a heightened point of focus.
Throughout the years, I continued my education in mind body wellness and knew I had found my true passion. Some of the areas I trained under were Duke Integrative Medicine Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program, Hippocrates Health Institute Life-Change program, Personal Training and Fitness Nutrition, MELT Method, Whole Nutrition Cooking and numerous Yoga and Functional Anatomy Curriculum Programs. My personal journey led me to a healthier relationship to food, fitness and self-care.
Food can be our medicine or our poison, so conscious food choices are critical to good health. Fitness and strength training is key to keeping our heart healthy and body strong. MELT releases stress that’s stuck in your connective tissue and helps bring your nervous system into balance. Yoga has unlimited and far-reaching benefits, from improving your flexibility to building strong bones, and is a gateway to self-awareness.
Today I design classes, workshops, private sessions, and retreats to improve your overall health and wellness. I love to teach all individuals, yet specialize in people 50 and over. I work with individuals privately, in small groups, communities and businesses. My engaging nature, and patience allows me to create an experience to meet your unique needs. I’d love to help you find your balance through Food, Fitness and Mind Body Wellness.
