Established in 2005, Harmony Music School has worked hard to become Sheffield’s most recommended, independent music school. In the last 15 years we have taught over 5000 students in our studios, online and in schools and classrooms with two branches in Sheffield at Ecclesfield and Broomhill.
We are committed to providing a high level of music education, whether it be one to one lessons in our school, online lessons, courses and classes. As a not-for-profit organisation, we strive to improve our services by reinvesting all the profits from the business back into the school.
We run and fund a variety of music education programmes, including providing scholarships for children who wouldn’t ordinarily be able to access music education, supporting local schools with free music workshops, and volunteering for various organisations and charities.
You will learn the basics of the instrument and the theory behind what you are doing as well as being shown the styles and chops of many of the world’s great bands and artists such as Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Green Day.
The ukulele is a great instrument for young and old alike to learn and enjoy.Its small size makes it the ideal starting point for younger students with smaller hands, but the ukulele is also a great instrument for older students and adults to enjoy.
We will guide you through the theory as a stand alone subject or as preparation for a music, GCSE or A Level exam. Some music degrees require Grade 5h Theory as part of their entry requirements.
As well as training you to use your voice correctly and without damaging it, you will also learn about placement, breathing and control. You will learn to read music and to understand the theory behind what you are doing.
Our piano lessons cover all aspects of playing. You can learn simply for fun or we can offer you industry training and contacts as part of your lessons to help you get started as a gigging musician.
