I’ve had a long career in making custom furniture. I had (and still have) great clients, but after a teaching gig in Brooklyn and a few years of teaching private lessons, I realized I was happiest when sharing my skills.
In the summer of 2019 I moved my shop to American St. to make teaching my primary focus. Classes are designed to mimic how small run production shops move through their projects. There is a heavy emphasis on design and I push students to see strategies and methods that they can apply to any project.
Starting with rough hewn boards, students move through all the main machines in the shop. We cover jointing, planing and spend a good amount of time on the table saw.
