Pahang Skills Development Centre (Pahang Skills) was iregistered under the Societies Act 1966 on 17th June 1994 and commenced active operations on 1st September 1996 in the Industrial Park Semambu, Kuantan, Pahang on an area of 12 acres. Pahang Skills is a skills based training and education institution which was established through cooperation between three (3) parties i.e. the State Government, the Federal Government and the major industries in the state. Pahang Skills core activity is to provide skills training for workers in the industrial sector.

Pahang Skills gain confidence from various parties to implement numerous skills training programs for industrial workers in the field of TVET. For Short Term courses in 2022, Pahang Skills has trained a total of 697 participants covering the fields of Technical, ICT and soft skills. Among the multinational companies involved namely; Lynas Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Kaneka (M) Sdn. Bhd, Nextgreen Pulp & Paper Sdn. Bhd, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (Cameron Highland), Camel Power (M) Sdn. Bhd and Petronas Ammonia Sdn. Bhd.

Additionally, from the government departments were the State Secretary’s Office (SUK), Pahang Department of Islamic Religion, Pahang State Social Welfare Department and the Technical and Vocational Training Education Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia.

Pahang Skills also has trained IPT graduates through skills improvement programs funded by Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputra (YPPB), MIDA, MPC and KPT. Among the programs under this category were Expert Craftsman Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Grid-Connected Photovoltaic System Installation and Maintenance with IoT, Python Certification and Application in Data Analytics, Siemens PLC with IoT Integration and Manufacturing Management Foundation.

The Centre of Excellence @ Pahang Skills CoE also implements high-end and IR4.0 training programs. Among the programs that have been implemented was the MyReskill IoT program which was fully sponsored by the Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC). Pahang Skills has also been commissioned by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) as an Accredited Centre to carry out competency programs in the field of sustainable energy.

As a leader in promoting drone services centrally for government agencies / State GLCs, Pahang Skills now has the expertise to train participants in the use of drones through the collaboration with strategic partner namely; Aerodyne Group. Among the high demand programs are Drone Technology and Aerial Data Acquisition.

Pahang Skills has also been trusted to be the Main Consultant to develop the Pahang Digital Plan 2021-2025 together with Pahang Go Sdn. Bhd. This 5-year planning plan aims to create a comprehensive and interconnected digital ecosystem. Four (4) main cores are identified namely; digital infrastructure, digital government, digital inclusiveness and digital industry
