PCDC

The PCDC was launched in April 2014 as an independent, not for profit training and development resource for general practice staff working in NHS Primary Care in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire.

Since its initiation, the PCDC has enjoyed significant success in organising, commissioning and providing training and development courses, an area which is now its core focus.

As the title suggests, the PCDC’s initial target market was the primary care workforce. However, upon recognising a growing appetite for its services across other sectors.

The PCDC has now expanded its reach to include workforce from the following sectors:

• Primary Care

• Secondary Care

• Community Care

• Private Healthcare

• Social Care

The organisation operates primarily across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire & Northamptonshire, but is beginning to establish a presence further afield, most recently attracting interest from Lincolnshire, Staffordshire, Norwich & Blackpool.

Our Mission

• To help build the capacity and capability of our local health and social care workforce and to equip them to provide the best possible care to patients and service users.

• To meet as far as possible the training and development needs of clinical and non-clinical staff providing health and social care in organisations working in or around the NHS locally, thereby enabling the NHS to achieve its ambition of having “the right staff, with the right skills, in the right place and time for patients”.

• To be a centre of innovation, facilitating the sharing of ideas about, and research into, new ways of working in health and social care.

• To help local health and social care organisations and their staff meet the challenge of transforming services in line with national and local policy directives for the benefit of the people who use their services.
