Steven has a 10 year background in competitive swimming which was established throughout his school and university years in Northern Ireland. He has a real love of all things swimming, this should be evident from your very first lesson.
Steven has delivered 1000s of private 1-2-1 lessons with adult beginners and early-improvers, he loves to pass on his knowledge around the process of learning to swim, the technical aspects of each stroke and allowing each individual to develop in their own time.
Steven is also a physiology graduate and because of this he loves to use this knowledge in order to better explain the science in swimming and its effects on the body. In his spare time he enjoys open water and cold water swimming.
In 2018 he completed an English Channel relay swim in 12 hrs and 45 mins and in 2019 he competed in the winter swimming World Cup in Skelleftea in Northern Sweden.
He also spent 12 months teaching groups of adult beginners and coaching triathletes in Sweden in 2019, it was during this period that he got the opportunity to shadow the former Swedish olympic team head coach for 6 months.
To better understand the coaching side of swimming and how it plays a role in developing swimmers to the highest level. “My passion is helping adults get comfortable in the water”.
