Our Story
Throughout history, people of all genders and ages have used sewing as a means to connect, fight oppression, and record histories that were being left out of the public conscience. By putting thread and fabric together, we can continue the legacy of quilting, sewing, and textile art and the strength it has to empower individuals and communities.
Sincere Studio views the legacies of cultural institutions such as the Freedom Quilting Bee and the AIDS Quilt as important parts of American history as well as amazing examples of the power of sewing and community.
Sincere Studio was founded by Frances Andonopoulos. A Chicago-native, Frances now lives in Portland OR with their dog Jelly.
Frances learned to make quilts ten years ago and has a passion for bringing people together to share space, ideas, and skills.
Frances is also the artist behind We Love You and We Miss You, the fentanyl memorial quilt.
