Elevated Work Platforms are becoming more prominant within our industry, enabling wider flexibility and a comprehensive range of work tasks can now be completed safely from them. So workers need to be competent in the safe operation as they are often working in close proximity to live conductors.

The Mobile Elevated Work Platform course for scissor and boom lift EWP’s ensures operators will gain the understanding of accident prevention and safe operator responsibilities.

EWP training is about teaching the regulations, guidelines as well as code of practice for accessing and operating elevated working platforms safely. The training also covers practical exercises that apply and test a trainee's knowledge of the risks and operational skills required when operating.

People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of: - types of EWPs, their suitability for purpose; and safety features; and - industry requirements in relation to legislation and the BPG, and the use of EWPs.
