A 3 month accredited skills course that will enable learners to provide home-based care to the elderly and other persons in need of care at home.
This course is for people wanting to become Carers, this is not your average carers course! You will leave this course empowered and will be able to actually care effectively for these types of patients and individuals needing care.
This course is one day a week, usually on a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, and runs for 9 weeks. This is followed by 168 hours community work at a care facility to enable each learner to gain work experience.
A home based carer provides supervised care and support to patients and household members in the home, in order to promote, restore and maintain a person’s comfort, function, spiritual wellbeing and physical health including care towards a dignified death.
