Course Details

This class is a combination of dance and gymnastics. Dancers will combine jazz and acrobatics together to learn different tricks, balancing positions, tumbling, and contortion skills.

There is a large emphasis on flexibility, strength, and control. Dancers will be placed based off of their individual needs, abilities, and ages. The safety of you dancer is the most important factor when deciding placement.

  • Stephanie is a proud dance educator who has been providing quality dance training and education for well over a decade. She is a graduate of the York University BFA Honors Dance program specializing in Pedagogy and Movement Analysis and an acceptant of the National Ballet School of Canada’s Teacher Training Program. Stephanie is trained extensively in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Fosse Jazz, and Hip Hop. She is a well respected professional teacher holding qualifications with the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers (ADAPT), Acrobatic Arts, Cecchetti Society of Canada (CSC), the Limón Modern Technique, Acro Dance Association (formerly Acrobatique), The British Association of Teacher’s of Dancing (BATD), Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), Healthy Dancer Canada (HDC), High Five Quality at Play: Healthy Child Development, and the Professional Adjudicators Alliance (PAA), SOTT Pilates, Total Barre, and Barreworks Certified.

Beginner level students will learn acro basics and further improve flexibility. Advancement thru the levels will include learning more complex acro skills, partnering and group work.

Any dancers that are ready for their exams will be invited to do so. Every dancer will work towards doing an exam each year however it can take a few years to develop certain acro skills so not every dancer will do an exam each year.
