This class is an important part of our competitive dancers training program, but is also great for children looking for a weekly physically demanding activity that increasing strength and confident.Â
Acro (Age 8+) dance classes are offered by Coastal Dance Academy. Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements.
This class is a combination of dance and gymnastics. Dancers will combine jazz and acrobatics together to learn different tricks, balancing positions, tumbling, and contortion skills. There is a large emphasis on flexibility, strength, and control.
Class progressions include basic acrobatics skills such as somersaults, balancing tricks, cartwheels etc. This class will consist of floor exercises only, there will be no apparatus used. Dancers will continue to progress in class as each trick/skill is accomplished.Â
Students Learn Basic Balances and Tumbling Skills As Well as Partner Work
