The course covers the most rudimentary aspects of ballet, including posture, turn out, and placement at the barre and in the centre
Overview:
This Ballet Basics course will give you an understanding of the fundamentals of Classical Ballet. The course covers the most rudimentary aspects of ballet, including posture, turn out, and placement at the barre and in the centre.
You will develop an understanding of the “basics” such as how-to plie and tendu and much more. This course will give you a good understanding of this style and will prepare you for general beginner level classes.
The course runs for 6-weeks, consisting of one 75-minute class per week, and is $132 for the course. Each class builds on from the class before it (hence why term enrolment is required) teaching the student the core fundamentals of that style.
We do not allow casual attendance in this class as attending class sporadically will not enable students to really understand the basics, and develop the skills needed to progress and enjoy a Beginner or Elementary class.
After completing a Basics course, you should have the skills to give you the confidence to join an Absolute Beginners class, or a standard Beginners/Elementary Class.
You can choose to do a Basics course as many times as you like, until you feel confident enough to progress to another level. We advise that you speak to your teacher regularly to touch base on your progress and see when you will be ready to move up.
Please remember that everyone learns differently and at a different pace. It is important not to compare yourself to others, and just be patient with yourself, and trust in the process. We welcome you to experience our adult ballet classes in a welcoming, non-competitive atmosphere.
