  • Teacher's Experience
  • Macy Koppa quickly fell in love with the Classical Ballet at age 5. She began training pre-professionally and attended summer intensives with ABT, Walnut Hill, Oregon Ballet Theatre, and Chautauqua. Macy was accepted on scholarship to attend Gelsey Kirkland’s Academy of Classical Ballet. She then went on to study under Sergio Neglia at Neglia Ballet, and transformed her training into professional level Ballet. Macy homeschooled to optimize her dance training, and at 18, she was accepted as a professional company dancer with Dance Theatre of Tennessee in Nashville. There, she performed several solo and principal roles. Macy attended Portland State University with certification in Multicultural education. She has taught classical Ballet for the past five years, as well as choreographed for competition teams and Hip Hop. Macy is currently studying to become a Pilates Trainer so she may help other dancers with injuries and strengthening. She hopes to preserve the art of storytelling through dance and bring the knowledge of injury prevention to the movement community.
