We invite you to step up to the Barre! Dance Barre has been a vision of Lindsay and Blake's for many years. After fulfilling their dreams as professional dancers in Los Angeles they are excited to have a studio in Windsor to call their own.
Growing up in a studio environment they realize how important their positions are as teachers. They believe basing their classes on self worth, discipline and respect they will be able to teach the many life lessons that dance has to offer.
Providing classes from age 2 to adult in all disciplines of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Turns. From your most recreational dancer who wants to learn a few moves in Hip Hop to your pre-professional, Dance Barre is the place to be!
Ballet classes are offered by The Dance Theatre Performing Arts. The basis of all dance arts, this course will use the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus to develop strong technique while exploring the various styles of classical, character and contemporary ballet.
Dancers are introduced to the fundamentals of ballet while working on improving alignment, strength, and flexibility. Classes run all dance year for 45 minutes a week, with a year-end recital routine.
Pointe classes are for dedicated ballet students. Candidates for Pointe must be in Cecchetti III and be at least 12 years old. Dancers must be taking two ballet classes per week and the pre-Pointe class in order to be evaluated by the teacher as candidates for Pointe.
For serious students working at a Grade 3/4 level. The class is an extension of the technical technique and is an introduction to Pointe technique. This class will start in soft slippers and Pointe shoes will be added at the teacher’s discretion.
There is a strong focus on proper technique, body alignment, terminology, and both traditional and current ballet techniques. Ballet is a beautiful and challenging form of dance that develops and enhances technique, poise, grace, and strength.
