In 2014 DEC introduced a new ballet training program.
Much excitement came with this new approach as it encompasses ballet skills and technique along side theatrical preparation giving the ballet student at DEC a complete knowledge of training and its practical application for stage and performance opportunities.

This class follows the RAD Pre-Primary in Dance to develop the students’ physical skills, stamina, creativity, expression, and musicality using a range of sounds and musical styles.
These classes provide your young dancer access to technical and artistic skills of ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance skills taught at an age appropriate level through a fun and creative lens.
From five years old the Graded Syllabus is taught – Beginner Ballet/ Pre-Primary through to Grade Five.Â
A 3/4 hour class. Students learn more formal short exercises and their first ballet dance.
We merge ballet and jazz techniques, along with creative movement, in this pre-school class.Â
