L.O.D follows the RAD classical ballet syllabus and offers classes for all ages and abilities. Students participate in exams and can choose to continue their training in a career-orientated pathway or purely for their Love of Dance.
DurationAs our junior ballet dancers move through the lower grades they will need to attend two classes a week if they wish to participate in RAD exams.
Our senior school offers higher grades alongside, or as an alternative to, the vocational levels from Intermediate upwards.
We offer all RAD vocational level training and open classes are offered to Grade 5 students and above as an alternative to, or alongside RAD syllabus classes.
At L.O.D we offer high-quality dance lessons in a warm nurturing environment. We pride ourselves on caring for children on an individual basis within the classroom setting.
All students are offered the same opportunities to participate in syllabus examinations and performances. We find this approach provides a more supportive and rewarding experience than the competitive dance environment and gives all students the chance to excel and reach their full potential.

Ballet is a formalized style of dance to create expression through movement. At Auckland Academy of Dance, we teach the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabi from Pre School— Solo Seal.
This energetic class consists of foundational jazz dance elements including; counting & timing, directional changing, spotting, body alignment, contractions, isolations, jumps, turns and combinations.
These classes provide your young dancer access to technical and artistic skills of ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance skills taught at an age appropriate level through a fun and creative lens.
Ballet is a great technical foundation for all dance  genres.
