Overview:
On this course, you'll learn not only how to use a wok, but also how to care for it. You'll learn to create a range of quick and tasty starter and main course dishes, using a variety of Chinese ingredients.
All ingredients are sourced from shops around Glasgow so it’s the perfect excuse to venture into the various Chinese supermarkets. Most recipes are adaptable for vegetarians. You'll be able to take home a tasty dish each week while learning new hints and tips in the kitchen.
You'll study:
Traditional Chinese favourites.
Regional cuisine.
Easy to prepare and healthy dishes for everyday cookery.
How the course is taught
The first night will be a practical demonstration by the lecturer and recipes will be issued.
You will be required to buy ingredients to bring in with you every week.
There will be lecturer led demonstrations every week and also the chance to ask any questions and taste the food.
Materials
All equipment is provided. Each week your lecturer will hand out a recipe with a list of ingredients you need to buy for the following week. You will need containers to take your food home in.
Dress code
Appropriate clothing and footwear for the kitchen.
Apron to protect your clothing.
Tea towel for drying dishes.
