The school provides Ministry of Education subsidised group music lessons for primary and intermediate age school students and a range of non-subsidised music lessons for all age groups.

Since 1963 our music school has been offering a range of instrumental tuition options, as well as the opportunity to gain ensemble and orchestral experience.

In 2018 the music school in conjunction with the primary school opened a new music classroom.

This has allowed the school to increase a range of options for children and adults to learn a music instrument.

We deliver Saturday morning group music lessons for primary and intermediate age school students.

Our new After School music classes are for all school-age students.

Based in Mount Roskill, Auckland we serve the local communities of Mt Roskill, Blockhouse Bay, Mt Albert, Avondale, Hillsborough, Three Kings, New Windsor, Lynfield, Green Bay and Sandringham.

Teacher's Experience
Stefenie joined Marshall Laing in 2018 as our Clarinet, Saxophone and Recorder tutor. Stefenie Pickston is a Hillary scholar who is in her first year of studying a conjoint of Music and Computer Science at the University of Waikato. Currently she is studying clarinet under Bridget Miles, and she has had master classes with notable clarinetists Julian Bliss, Andrew Simon, Louis DeMartino, and Jonathan Cohen. Stefenie is a passionate musician who enjoys performing Clarinet in a variety of settings, including as a soloist as well as an ensemble member. She was awarded her DipABRSM with distinction in 2016, and won an Orchestral Internship with Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra in 2017. She is the principal clarinetist of the National Youth Orchestra for 2019.
