Parents are invited to contribute to the governance of Saturday Music Charitable trust by serving as an appointed Trustee or as a co-opted Parent Representative.
Parent Representatives must have a child enrolled in Saturday Music as a condition of acting in this role. Both roles are necessary for the continuing function of the Board.
Saturday Music Charitable Trust (Inc) is a registered charity (CC29243) and is supported by the Primary School Out-of-Hours Music Scheme of the Ministry of Education. It is administered by a Trust Board and is hosted by Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School, operating under the regulations of the Ministry of Education.

Out of School Music classes are intended to give all primary school children the opportunity to learn a musical instrument.
Students must have completed 2 years of basic instrument or 10 yrs old before enrolling in clarinet lessons.
The Forte method puts the emphasis firmly on fun and is designed to build confidence at the same time as teaching music skills.
The school provides Ministry of Education subsidised group music lessons for primary and intermediate age school students
