Course Details

Pasta is an all time favourite. In this cooking workshop we teach you how to make 3 basic pasta shapes from scratch, how to cook the perfect pasta, as well as a variety of quick and easy sauces.

At the end of the class, sit down and enjoy a scrumptious pasta feast.

 

The programme for the day is as follows:

  • 9:00am – Tea, coffee and home-made eats on arrival;
  • 9:30am – Introduction;
  • A practical demonstration on how to prepare hand-made pasta;

 

Prepare pasta and sauces, including:

  • Making pasta – by hand. How to cut the pasta into basic shapes;
  • Bolognaise sauce – a classic with spaghetti, tagliatelle, cannelloni or lasagna;
  • The perfect white sauce – the base for a number of baked pasta dishes;
  • Fresh tomato sauce – originating from Naples, a simple quick sauce;
  • Meat lasagne – the authentic dish from Bologna;
  • Roasted tomato and rocket salad – a good side salad for a braai.
  • Gorgonzola cream sauce – a nutty cheesy tang, perfect with farfalle or linguine;
