Classical ballet classes from Pre Primary through to Grade 8 and vocational grades from Intermediate Foundation – Advanced 2 level.

Creativity is the heart of the R.A.D syllabus building self- esteem and confidence through movement and expression.

Brisbane Academy of Dance was established in 1994 and has since grown to become a renowned provider of quality dance education and training on the north side of Brisbane. We offer a diverse dance curriculum for students from 2 years old to young professional, including such genres as classical ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, acrobatics and hip hop.

We pride ourselves on developing, encouraging and nurturing the unique and individual qualities each student possesses. Our studio is built upon the passion & care of our teaching faculty & the talents of all our students.

We are incredibly proud to provide a caring environment where students can strive for excellence by exploring & learning all genres of dance. We encourage creativity and diversity, whilst instilling passion and a love of dance.

Teacher's Experience
Janet began dancing at an early age and received training in a variety of dance forms including ballet, jazz, tap, folk dance and contemporary. Over her career Janet has taught both locally and overseas, during which time she has been invited as a guest teacher, lectured in the History of Ballet and conducted Teachers’ Courses. She has gained a lot of experience in performing and choreography with several dance companies as a dancer, rehearsal director and choreographer. Whilst teaching in Hong Kong Janet choreographed for the FIVB World Volleyball Championships, as well as many dance competitions. She has also undertaken the role of adjudicator for the Hong Kong Schools Dance Festival. She has attained a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) Degree from the Queensland University of Technology and a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. In addition she has Teaching Diplomas from RAD and CSTD. Janet is a registered RAD teacher and a member of the RAD Panel Qld.
