Studying classical ballet develops poise, confidence, coordination, and discipline. Very young dancers attend lessons once a week. Students from Primary (usually age 6) to Grade 5 must attend 2 ballet lessons per week.

Vocational Level ballet students must attend a minimum of 3 ballet lessons per week. We teach the classical technique of the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Students are prepared for RAD examinations at the discretion of the teachers.
Hinterland Dance Academy believes a dance education lasts a lifetime. We aim to create great dancers with a passion for their art while teaching values and skills to develop well-balanced young individuals.
As with our junior school, Emerald dancers take one ballet class a week, along with their choice of tap, jazz, contemporary and lyrical. Traditionally our emerald dancers take 3 or 4 styles of dance with us.
Pointe Classes are offered by Anita Coutts School of Dance for all ages and skills.
Ballet and jazz are the base of these classes. Taught using a variety of music and props including action songs to enhance co-ordination and technique.
Classical ballet training promotes good posture, poise, strength, elegance and develops confidence within a child of any age.
A half hour extension to the Senior Open Ballet Class for dancers who wish to maintain and perfect their pointe technique.
