Classes follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus, and students will be given the option to undergo mock examinations in their respective grades.
Ballet is an essential part of any dancer’s training and brings additional grace, strength, technique, and poise to a dancer’s presentation. This class involves a warm-up, stretching, barre, and center work.
Classes follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus, and students will be given the option to undergo mock examinations in their respective grades.
Examinations (and mock exams) will incur extra costs and are entirely optional, though we highly recommend them for students who wish to excel in dance or simply achieve recognition for their hard work.
Please note that students will not necessarily move up a grade each year – to ensure thorough syllabus knowledge and execution, as well as training and proper technique, students usually take the same grade class for approx 2-3 years. RAD is one of the world’s most influential dance education and training programs.
What To Wear:
The WA Performance School is Perth’s premier dance and performance academy catering to all ages and backgrounds. Our talented and dedicated instructors provide a supportive and professional environment to all of our students to encourage their growth, confidence and most importantly, their enjoyment!
Ballet is the fundamental dance style, with dance technique and safe dance practise at its core. Contemporary/Lyrical is ballet’s offshoot style with more free flowing expressive, yet at times dynamic movement.
We understand starting ‘Big School’ signals a change in routine for our Kindy and Year 1 students but it doesn’t have to mean putting their love of performing arts on the backburner!
A great way to get your child started into dance classes. Basic technique and training to build confidence and skill from a young age.
Ballet and jazz are the base of these classes. Taught using a variety of music and props including action songs to enhance co-ordination and technique.
Ballet stretches are an essential part of training in this form of dance. Not only stretching, but stretching correctly, can improve your performance now and extend your dancing life for years.
