All classes take place in a fun and safe environment where pupils can learn the techniques of the Performing Arts industry but also build confidence, encourage creativity, enhance social skills and make new friends.
Opened in 2013 by its Principal Sam Riley, The Academy is based in Arnold and has purpose built dance studios, and a comfortable waiting area. The dance studios have sprung floors, mirrors and ballet barres. The waiting area has viewing windows for parents to enjoy watching our classes.
Our aim is to offer expert tuition led by qualified industry professionals in Ballet, Tap, Acrobatics, Street, Commercial, Lyrical, Jazz, Drama and Musical Theatre. All classes take place in a fun and safe environment where pupils can learn the techniques of the Performing Arts industry but also build confidence, encourage creativity, enhance social skills and make new friends.
As well as our weekly classes, we also offer many exciting opportunities including, examinations, competitions, festivals, workshops with industry professional, performances and annual showcases.
We believe the discipline of dance training gives young people a better understanding of commitment through learning, experiencing the spirit of teamwork and discovering what they can accomplish through hard work.

Ballet is the foundation of dance. From Intro through to Prep, the basics of ballet are taught through syllabus work in a fun and encouraging way. Mime and story-telling through dance are at the heart of the IDTA and RAD syllabus.
Our Primary Ballet classes are for boys and girls with the experience in ballet from age 7 or 8 years, and for 9 year old beginners.
Ballet employs traditional ballet technique, and is known for it's aesthetics and rigorous training. Turn out of the legs, Pointe work and extensions. Ballet is flowing, and has precise and ethereal movements
Ballet classes are offered by Sylvia Bird Dance Centre. We follow an accredited dance syllabus for each subject, giving our students the opportunity to progress through Graded examinations with B.T.D.A. and we have a 100% pass rate.
Ballet is the basis of all dance subjects. Regular classes will provide strength, correct placing, co-ordination, poise & enjoyment of dance.
