The Premier Dance Academy was established in 1994 by its principal, Tania Whelan. Prior to this time the Academy was well known as The Sayers Dance Centre.
Tania is a fully registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dancing (R.A.D) after gaining her Teaching Certificate with Distinction and later her Teaching Diploma.
We offer both junior and senior contemporary dance. It is a mixture of ballet and modern dance and emphasises expression and fluidity. Contemporary helps develop skill, flexibility and strength.
Contemporary is taught at performing arts high schools and at HSC level and the style has been made even more popular with television shows such as So You Think You Can Dance ect. Students from Grade 2 ballet can enjoy this style.
This class emphasizes dynamic, full-body movements that are both energetic and dramatic, based on classical technique. Learn to express yourself through movement while gaining strength and flexibility, as well as learning fun contemporary combinations to a variety of songs.
Contemporary Dance Lessons are offered by CV Dance Studio for all ages and skills. Modern interpretive dance classes using a good ballet technique.
This style is a great accompaniment to ballet dancers as it teaches dancers how to use ballet techniques to extract meaning from dances.
