We offer co-ed instruction in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Tumbling. All students have the opportunity to perform in our Winter Showcase as well as our Annual Revue. Our advanced students may audition or be invited to perform with our Dance Teams – “The Solid Gold Divas” or “The Golden Nuggets”.
Our dance teams have performed for showcases, community events, competitions and travel to out-of-state venues as well. This class is designed to teach a style of theatrical dance that rejects the limitations of classical ballet and favors movement deriving from the expression of inner feelings
Modern/Contemporary Dance Classes are offered by South Bay Dance Center for all ages and skill level. South Bay Dance Center is recognized by many bay area professional dancers and college faculty members as the premiere dance education facility for serious dance students.
A combination of Horton, Graham, Jazz and Ballet with a fusion of ethnic dance technique. It's a passionate and emotional dance style that uses motion to interpret music. The choreography attempts to show the meaning of the lyrics of the music.
Contemporary, similar to lyrical and jazz, is very versatile and can be danced to almost any style of music and paired with other forms of dance to create new types of movement.
