Since its launch in January 2003 Gipton Together has worked with children/young people aged 5yrs -18 yrs. from the communities of Gipton/Harehills and surrounding areas, areas scant of opportunities for young people.
Through arts and sports activities for young people our sessions act as a crime prevention and crime diversionary alternative.
Gipton Together addresses social exclusion providing community based activities, and a safe place for children/young people to go in the evenings - and alternative to 'hanging out' on the streets.
We encourage young people to participate, to acquire and develop their ‘transferable’ skills, to raise their aspirations, to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, self-esteem and confidence; and with the support of the wider community, to challenge the barriers between generations.
You’ll learn to play, read, write and improvise music in a fun and engaging way. Playing well known Rock and Pop tunes to help hone your skills.
Drum classes are offered by Northern Music Centre. All tuition is given on a one-to-one basis. This allows the teacher to tailor the lesson to the individual student – working on the weaknesses and building on the strengths.
Topics covered range from, but not limited to Reading, Technique, Musical Development and Stylistic Awareness.
All our lessons are tailored to the individual student's needs, no two drummers are the same so we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to learning to play drums. We'll make sure we're always working towards your personal goals and playing the music you enjoy!
Whether you are looking to start learning to play to the drums, you want to prepare your drum exam, or you are playing in a band and want to improve your drumming skills, London School of Music will always help you to achieve your goals as a drummer.
