As dancers, it is important to acquire good muscular strength to create more speed and force to your movements, muscular endurance to have the ability to maintain and complete classes and performances safely, and flexibility in order to accomplish a larger range of motion, improving the aesthetic of many skills and shapes.

TJS offers a technique class where we focus on strength, stretch, conditioning, working to improve these elements vital to being a dancer. This class will utilise the increased ability of the students to develop a range of skills to incorporate into troupes and solos, or to implement into class work.

This class will not only improve the overall strength of the dancer, but assist in improving our students’ confidence and consistency in performing different skills in class or on stage, helping them become the most employable, intelligent and skilful dancers they have the potential to be.

  • Stephanie is a professional classical ballet soloist, who has recently returned to Australia from performing with several ballet companies overseas for the past seven years. She is a local girl, who attended Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts. During her career as a ballerina, Stephanie has performed alongside several world renowned ballet stars such as Svetlana Zakharova, Jozef Varga, Anna Tsygankova, Dennis Nedak & Maria Seletskaja as well as worked with many international choreographers such as Radu Poklitaru, Jelena Pankova, Rafael Avnikjan, Gediminas Taranda & Ronald Savkovic. Stephanie was granted the opportunity to study classical ballet at the prestigious Ballettschule Theater Basel, Switzerland in 2010. She received intense and detailed training in many ballet styles from Balanchine to Vaganova in a professional theatre under the watchful eye of BTB’s director, ex professional ballerina Amanda Bennett, whom also assumed artistic directorship of the Prix de Lausanne in 2012. She also studied Neoclassical & Modern Contemporary performing works by Duncan Rownes, Vitali Safronkine, Roderick Georg and Attila Kun. Stephanie gained a wide range of training and knowledge from many teachers and guest teachers completing her studies with a diploma as a professional ballet dancer and being offered her first contract in Estonia where her career began. Stephanie was the first ever Australian to tour and dance as a Soloist artist with the Imperial Russian Ballet. Her debut in the role as “Cupid” from “Don Quixote” gained media attention which resulted in radio, magazine and newspaper interviews around the country. A critique noted during a performance: "A standout was also Stephanie Goldhahn who had captivating stage presence and was a delight to watch, executing her solo as Cupid with an ear-to-ear smile. I couldn’t fault her delicately soft landings and elegance in gliding across stage almost entirely en pointe.” After touring with the Russian ballet Stephanie and her husband Daniil danced together as soloists in the National Theatre Belgrade performing many full length classical ballets giving her a worldly appreciation and history of her craft. Stephanie has successfully completed her RAD examinations up to Advanced 2, receiving distinction in all grades. She taught on occasions overseas and throughout Sydney on her returns to Australia.
