Humber’s intensive Horticultural Technician Apprenticeship program applies horticulture principles, environmental stewardship and sustainability practices in its theory and applied learning.
At Humber, we have exceptional facilities for horticulture and landscape education.
The program uses the Humber Arboretum which is a 250-acre botanical garden centered on the west branch of the Humber River, surrounding Humber’s North Campus.
It includes ornamental, woodland and wildlife gardens serving as a unique living classroom for plant studies, construction, arboricultural and horticultural skills.
Our construction lab is housed in a weather-protected facility, which allows you to potentially build full-scale structures such as decks, gazebos and retaining walls. Our greenhouse provides space for students to explore plant propagation and growing systems.
The in-college component of the program coincides with the typical slowdown in the horticultural industry during the winter months of January - March. Apprenticeships are not available to international applicants.
