Sushi is a Japanese dish of prepared vinegared rice accompanied by a variety of ingredients. The styles of sushi and its presentation vary widely, but the one key ingredient is "sushi rice." In this class, we will use our knife skills as we prepare to create our own vegetable sushi.
Learn the fine art of sushi making! We'll teach you all there is to know about sushi, from making the perfect sushi rice to how to properly cut fish and vegetables for rolls.Â
In this class our chef will let you in on everything you'll need to make your own sushi at home. We'll cover the fundamentals: shopping for ingredients, how to prepare the rice and dipping sauces, equipment and techniques needed.
In this introductory course on authentic Japanese cooking workshop, you'll learn about 2 different kinds of Japanese stocks using bonito flakes and dried kelp, knife skills, ingredients, seasonings, and cooking techniques that are unique to Japanese cuisine.
