Like all other dance styles dance helps children mature physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively. The physical benefits of dance are widely accepted, but the emotional, social and cognitive attributes have only recently begun to be appreciated.
DanceWorks Studios is located in the center of Palmerston North. Since 2011, we have inspired our students to excel while gaining a love and respect for our art form. Although we expect high standards, it can still be done in a kind and caring way so students enjoy class while achieving results.

Convenience for parents is a top priority of ours, we welcome you to use the common room and parent waiting areas. With all four studios under the same roof we can provide all our lessons in the same building meaning you don't have to cart children from one studio to the next for the different genres of dance.
We study the American Jazz Dance Affiliation syllabus and exams are held in August each year.
For the Pre School students we offer Pre Grades disciplines in Ballet, Jazz & Tap.
For 4-6 year olds. This is a fun, engaging class which consists of warm ups, barre exercises, centre exercises, progressions and dances to engaging funky music. This class provides a fun introduction to modern jazz dance. This class is based on the NZAMD Pre grade jazz syllabus.
Jazz Funk is a fusion dance style which incorporates elements of hip hop, burlesque, jazz, commercial funk and street swagger.
Jazz is a solo dance style suitable for men and women. These courses are progressive and can be joined up to week 2 or 3.
